The former Brazilian leader has been arrested after authorities determined he posed a concrete flight risk while under home confinement.

The ex-president was found guilty of orchestrating a government overthrow in last fall and given more than over two decades in prison, but he continued under home detention pending legal challenges.

Top Judicial Official the presiding justice said the decision to arrest the 70-year-old politician was a precautionary step after fresh information came to light.
